how you Create a new website

Posted on Updated on

Start your Own website.

A website has two important parts , Domain name and Hosting

Step 1:Domain name:

This is the address which people type to access your website for example http://www.google.com or http://www.pharmawiki.in . The name should match the content of the site . Also it should to easier to remember for our visitors

Domain names can be purchased from Bigrock or Godaddy in India
Buy domain from Bigrock at Rs.250/-
Buy domain from GoDaddy at Rs.549/-

I have domains on both the websites but i prefer Bigrock over GoDaddy as the domain names are cheap.

Step 2:Hosting

Hosting is the next thing where you need to invest money. It is expensive and starts at about Rs.1000 -3000 per year. In starting you may not need to buy a paid hosting. You can host your website for free at www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com .
Blogger is recommended as it is integrated with Google Adsense.

You can buy hosting from Bigrock (DONT BUY FROM GODADDY. Site will be slow)
On Bigrock hosting starts at Rs.149 per month (1788/month)
Go for Linux Hosting with atleast 3 domain names in case you want to start more than one website

Step 3: Linking Domain and hosting

If you are setting up site on blogspot you can search google for “Changing Domain name of Blogspot”
If you buy from Bigrock then it will be automatically setup.
